In mid April we arrived in Florence to spend a week in a flat close to the river and the Uffizi. All of the major sites were within easy reach and we set off early each day to visit the galleries before the crowds arrived.
Self catering was a pleasure with several markets nearby and the fresh produce was excellent
Tomatoes from Sicily were outstanding together with great bread, coffee, gorgonzola and olive oil.
